In October, an anonymous donor stepped forward with a simple but powerful act of generosity – ensuring fresh produce deliveries at Wellington Community could continue through the winter and into January, when families often feel the strain of rising food costs and limited access most acutely.
That initial act of care didn’t stop there.
Moved by the impact, the same anonymous donor has now committed to funding fresh, farm-grown produce for Wellington Community for the entire year of 2026. This commitment means families will have dependable access to healthy food in every season – not just during moments of crisis, but as a consistent source of nourishment and stability
“Thanks to our donors, Full Belly Foods is able to provide free fresh produce from a local farm to Wellington Community for all of 2026,” said Ben Sigel, Founder of Full Belly Foods. “If you’re interested in feeding a hungry community in your neighborhood, please visit fullbellyfoods.com to learn more and get in touch with me directly.”
While Wellington Community is fully funded for the year ahead, the need does not stop there. Connected Communities and Full Belly Foods are actively seeking donor support to extend this life-giving work to additional neighborhoods.

“We’re seeing how access to fresh food can truly change a community,” shared Melissa Madera, Team Lead. “One of the communities we’re hoping to bring this program to next is Coes Pond, where families could benefit deeply from the same consistency and care we’re seeing at Wellington.”
Ben reminds us that creating meaningful change doesn’t require enormous resources.
“A little bit of money goes a long way. About $15,000 can feed an entire community for an entire year.”
What began as a single act of generosity has grown into a year-long commitment – and with continued donor support, it can become something even bigger. Together, we can bring fresh food, dignity, and connection to more communities, one neighborhood at a time.
