Employment: Connected Communities Maintenance Apprenticeship Program
Developed in partnership with WinnCompanies, government agencies, non-profit partners, and vocational skill providers, Connected Communities launched the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program in 2018 to provide educational and career opportunities with WinnCompanies to community members.
This 12-month, paid career development program gives participants real-world experience as full-time maintenance technicians, hands-on training from local skilled trade schools, expert on-the-job training from WinnResidential maintenance leaders, virtual hands-on training, and full employee benefits. Maintenance Apprenticeship Program partners include WinnCompanies, The Peterson School in Worcester, MA, and Interplay Learning, all working together to deliver comprehensive training and support.
Since the start of the program 95% of graduated have been promoted to higher roles, including supervisory positions. 70% of graduates have stayed with the company for 3+ years, addressing high turnover and fostering long-term loyalty to the team. This program supports the empowering of individuals and helps to build resilient communities.
